20 Random Facts

Being new to this I thought it would be nice to share some facts about myself and thanks to Kaelah from Little Chief Honeybee I found a cute and concise way of doing so.
1. I am mixed with six different ethnicities. Yes, you read that right. I am German, Spanish, Filipino, Irish, Dutch and a splash of Chinese. There are people who have told me that if its not a lot it doesn't matter, but I happen to believe otherwise. If it wasn't there then you would be different. Someone in your family tree wouldn't be there thus changing who you would be. This leads to my next point.
2. I never have liked the question "What are you?". I think it is rude and since I'm a nice person, most the time, I just tell people when I see the question brewing on their faces. I would rather look like the over-sharing individual than hear you ask me "You've got to be mixed with something because you don't look all white. What are you?".
3. I love, love, looooooovvvvveeee Christmas time. I love the lights, the music, the way it makes people nice to each other, the drinks associated with the time of year (hot cocoa and eggnog to be specific), decorating the tree with my family, and seeing the faces of the people I care about when they open the present I got for them. I love all of it. In fact my name even means Child of Christmas. I like to think it was a sign.
4. Even though I love Christmas, I absolutely hate being cold. I can't stand it. Winter is not good for my body. I become this perpetual incubus of sickness! Its not fun for me and I'm pretty sure the people around me dislike it a lot too. I mean who wants to be around a person who is ALWAYS sick. Especially when it highers the percentage of me getting you sick.
5. One of my favorite guilty pleasures is getting a vanilla ice cream cone and small fries from Mc Donald's and then dipping the fries in my ice cream. Don't knock it till you try it, because oh my goodness the salty sweet combination is awesome. I thought my mom was crazy for doing it until she forced me to try it. It may be one of those things that gives me diabetes or a heart attack but its totally worth it. YUM!
6. I have an obsession with teeth cleaning products. The whole lot of them. Toothbrushes, mouthwash, toothpaste; you name it and I probably want it. I am constantly trying to find the next best thing to strengthen my teeth or whiten them or to be more gentle. I just can't stop myself!
7. I have a problem with speaking my mind about animal rights. It has gotten worse with time to the point where I tend to stop speaking to individuals who don't believe in animal rights. It may seem harsh but I think its better that I don't continue any type of relationship with you versus me calling you horrible names. I tend to get a bit over passionate and I don't want to hurt anyone's feelings just because they have a different opinion. Besides this little thing I am super understanding and nice. I pinky swear!
8. Speaking of animals I have two little dogs at home. One belongs to my boyfriend and the other to me, but overall they are OURS and we love them equally. I've grown up with animals, mostly dogs, my entire life. All the dogs that I have had in my life always were the most loyal and loving. I don't think I would've had the same childhood without them.
9. I must have whole milk, not 2% or 1% or vanilla almond milk. I only like whole milk. I drink at least a cup a day if not more and I use it for a lot of things. It goes in my oatmeal, my hot chocolate, my chai tea latte, and anything that possibly needs a little bit of milk, but only whole milk because I can taste the difference.
10. I am a super outgoing person, but I don't like being in a crowd of people. I tend to like more intimate groups of five or so people. More than that I tend to stick to a person I know and never leave their side. It sounds like an oxymoron for a really outgoing person to not like being around a bunch of people, but I guess I'm just a little weird like that.
11. I'm always cold, even in the summer. I don't know what is it, but my hands and feet stay super cold. Some people have told me I'm anemic or maybe I have poor circulation. Shrugs, all I know is I am always slightly chilly unless I am out in the sun in eighty plus degree weather.
12.Summer is the best time of the year! Its warm outside. I can go to the beach and lay in the sand or read a book or take a nap. I can be lazy by the pool and let all my worries melt away. I can go have a picnic at the nearby park with the boyfriend and our dogs. Its just the most wonderful time where I can do almost anything.
13. If I could choose any super power I would have Professor Xavier's powers. He could do more than just read people's minds. He could make it look like he stopped time. He could make you forget things or remember things. He could see all your memories. All those things he could do!!
14. I don't have any tonsils. When I was young I used to get sick all the time and would get severe episodes of tonsillitis. It would get so bad that I could hardly breathe, so my parents requested that they get taken out. I spent a week on bed rest and on the soup only diet. It was traumatic for me because I didn't like the fact that I had to breathe in the anesthesia and to make it worse it smelled like rubbing alcohol. Since that day I have done everything in my power to avoid any other surgeries.
15. I used to put sugar in my water. I didn't really like drinking water when I was younger because it was just so bland. I liked things that had a sweet or tangy flavor. Eventually I stopped and grew out of it, but it makes me think back on those times when I see the Mio commercials or Crystal Light. I flavored my water before it was cool.
16. I gave my little brother his first hair cut. I was an experimental child and I didn't usually ask for permission first. I wouldn't say I did it because I didn't like my brother because I did the same thing to all my dolls and barbies. I sincerely just think I wanted to test out my skills on a real person versus my dolls.
17. I spent most of my life overseas. My parents were both in the military and wanted to travel as much as possible so we didn't spend much time here in the states. Both my brother and I were born overseas, he in Guam and I in Okinawa. For most of our lives we grew up in a small town in Japan called Sasebo. It wasn't until about 2009 or 2010 that we moved back to the states for good. If you ever do get to travel to Asia I definitely recommend making a trip out to Japan.
18. I had my first taste of coffee when I was one. My grandfather (Lolo for grandpa in Tagalog) on my mother's side loved coffee. He always did up till the day he passed. The story goes that my Lolo was holding me and decided that I should try a spoonful of his coffee. Before anyone could stop him I was gulping down multiple spoonfuls because oddly enough I loved it too. I guess you can say we had a bonding moment over coffee.
19. I am a guyfriends over girlfriends type of girl and yet I joined a sorority. I think this fact is funny because I had a million friends both guys and girls ask me how in the world did I decide to be a part of a sorority when I don't like being around too many women. Not that I don't have girlfriends, but it tends to be the case that when a lot of women get together there is nothing but ciaos and drama. I stood strong through the crazy and not crazy times because I solely believed in what my sorority stands for; multiculturalism.
20. Last but not least (dedicated to Kaelah) I never pulled an all-nighter in college. I never understood how people could do that. I tried and would end up falling asleep. The longest I ever lasted was 4am and then I happily walked my little butt home and took a 2 hour siesta before waking up again at 6am to study more until my 8am test.
ciao!!
