The weather in DC just keeps going up and down and up and down. You never really know what the week will bring! Most days it was still cool enough to get away with both a sweater and jacket, but other days if felt like Spring was making an early arrival. I didn't waiver on my winter wardrobe this time and hope it will bring in the Christmas weather I want!

Sometimes I get super lucky during the holidays and the weather decides to be oddly warm out! I know it's Fall/Winter it should be cold but I hate the cold so when it's 70 degrees out I am super happy! That is what recently happened and I miss it so much! Come back oddly warm weather!

The colder it gets outside the more I tend to stick with neutral colors and leather accents. Here and there I will add one pop of color but for the most part I will stick to blacks and browns. The only exception is during the holidays where more greens and reds will come out. We are almost there!

Soon it will be Thanksgiving and then Christmas! Oh how the year flies by.

We had a short reprieve from the cold and I took full advantage of it. The days were full of sunshine and warm enough to only need tights to keep warm from the chilly breeze.

Its that time of year again when you can be anything or anyone you want. This year I visited one of my favorite decades of all time; the 1950s!! Big skirts, big hair and cute cardigans. What couldn't you love?

With the weather being a little warmer in the afternoons it gives me a chance to experiment and dress up for those special occasions. I try to be meticulous about my clothing and make sure one piece can work in multiple ways. This time I layered a skirt on top of my dress to give it a different look.

During that not so cold but not so warm part of Fall my favorite piece of clothing is my vest. It pairs well with everything in my closet and its just the right amount of warmth. The only decision I have to make is to wear it unzipped or zipped!

The chill of Fall is in the air and it is football season!! I, of course, can't resist an outfit that shows off my Steelers pride. How do you show off your football pride!?

I love, love, love museums and since this past Saturday was Museum Day the museums that usually cost money to go see were FREE! That is my type of price tag. I have been dying to go to the Newseum so that is exactly where I spent my time at on Saturday. Of course for an occasion like this I knew recreating the &Apparel look I have been drooling over would be perfect! When I say recreate I mean I bought the major pieces from them, because I couldn't resist. Let me know what you think!!

Rainy days are pretty much the worst type of day for me. I have been told that I have seasonal depression because I hate the winter so much, but I think I may also have weather depression, if that is a thing. Rainy days basically equal do nothing but complain that its raining outside and how it is ruining my weekend, day, mood. and anything else I can blame it on. Unfortunately we still had errands to run and things to do so I was forced out into the bad weather, but thankfully it turned into more of a cloudy day with sporadic mists (not fully rain and not fully sprinkles).

I found this lovely gem on my trip to Austin. It has just enough flare to let me feel cute and feminine while still being business casual appropriate. I love it by itself, with a blazer or cardigan and with or without heels! Its a great piece to have in my closet.

I hope everyone had an awesome and safe Labor Day weekend. For the first time ever I went on a weekend trip to Austin, Texas. First time for both a short vacation and to Austin. It was amazing. We walked around and enjoyed the sites, art and especially the food. I don't think there was a place we went that the food wasn't good! If you ever get a chance I 100% suggest taking a trip down there.
