Anchors Away Part 2

10:37:00 PM

Over the past weekend my boyfriend took a day to go up to Baltimore and enjoy the harbor with our dogs. Sometimes its really nice to get out of the city and go somewhere else even if its only a 45 minute drive away. It was an awesome day and it was beautiful out. I got the chance to wear my anchors crop top since it was warm enough out but at the same time it just seemed super appropriate with the boats around.

Anchors Away Part 1

11:36:00 PM

When a good deal hits I don't really have a lot of power over myself to not give in. Especially when that deal includes getting both a skirt and top for the low price of $25, with free returns. I fell in love immediately and there was no need for the free return. Who can say no to anchor patterned clothing?! In this case NOT ME! Unfortunately I don't really like the top and skirt together but I love them as separates that I can pair with so much of my wardrobe. This is part 1 of 2 posts about these anchor patterned pair.

Part 1, the skirt worn not only one way but two; work appropriate (well MY work appropriate) and after work fun.

Jean on Jean

4:13:00 PM

So I have written about fashion rules before and this is just another one that I simply could care less about. The main thing I hope anyone learns from me is that you should like what you wear and wear what you like. Simple as that! Yes there are rules out there that maybe you might want to sort of abide by like making sure the clothing you buy is your size. Sure why not? But at the end of the day as long as you feel confident, comfortable and beautiful then...who in the world cares!?

It was just an awesome day to get out for a little bit and enjoy the sunshine while it lasted in between all the crazy thunder storms. Hope you have some awesome Memorial Weekend plans!!

Tulle Dreams

5:04:00 PM

First off I want to apologize for the skip in posts last week. I got really sick from an event I went to and took most of the weekend to recover. Now back to the clothes! I have been craving a tulle ballerina type skirt for a while and it has definitely become a fashion trend must have for a while now. I just couldn't afford one that was good enough quality or quality that I could depend on. They have a few on ebay, but I just don't trust something that I haven't already seen in person or can't see in person first. Finally though I was able to save up enough money to get the skirt from the place I wanted it from. It was a pretty penny, but once in a while I don't mind spoiling myself. Especially if its good quality and will last me a while.

I love pairing really feminine and masculine pieces together to make awesomely comfortable yet super stylish outfits. This was taken at the event that I thoroughly had fun at but paid the price for afterward. Note to those with acid reflux, watch what you eat and how much you eat!! I basically ate every piece of food they provided and it was a lot.

Holy Shift Dress

2:50:00 PM

Everybody has that style of clothing or trendy piece that they just can not pull off no matter how many times they try it out. For me that is the shift dress. I am too small and to short and all kinds of other things that no matter what I look ridiculous! I am just so stubborn and fixate on finding the holy grail of that trendy piece I want that will finally just look good on me. When I tell you I went everywhere and anywhere possible to find that shift dress that would just fit me and my body...I mean it. I just couldn't find it anywhere! One weekend during that time of failing to find this dress I went home to visit my family. Lo and behold my mother bought me a dress at Marshalls that she thought I would like and it just so happened to be a shift dress. It looked good on me!! I had never been so happy and appreciative of my mom's shopping addiction until that very moment.

Before the Rain

9:54:00 AM

The weather here has, overall, been fantastic. Its cool, not cold, in the mornings and progressively warms up enough that I am stuffing my thin spring trench into my oversized work purse and cheerfully walking home. Some of those days if they are super nice after work the dogs will get a nice surprise trip to the waterfront instead of the usual around the block. As an odd turn of events when we were walking the two little happy boys toward the warterfront the sky start to turn grey and at the midway point decided to sprinkle a little. Not a big deal we just turned around and tried getting home before it could turn into a downpour. Well no more than two seconds go by and it is already a monsoon of water crashing down and we ran as fast as we could to the nearest cover we could find. It was hilarious! Zeus was running around smiling while Louie just gave up and sat down at one point for his daddy to scoop him up. We laughed and laughed about it even after we were waiting at the local Starbucks for the rain to let up.

You can even see the sky in some of the pictures was contemplating..."Hmmmm should I rain now or give it a couple minutes?" Oh DC, you with your five minute rain storms.

Betsey Johnson

Dressing Room Party

3:02:00 PM

I work literally minutes from Georgetown's shops and eats so it is almost too tempting to just run down the street and spend all my money. Recently just for fun I walked down to Urban Outfitters and browsed around for some new outfit inspiration. I found some piece that I couldn't resist trying on either for laughs or to see if I would actually look good in a popular style.

This was definitely more for laughs and fun because it is $350 which is no where near being in my budget. It is a Betsey Johnson dress that has so much tulle it literally stood on its own in the dressing room. If I did have the money to just splurge on this, I TOTALLY would have. I don't even mind that it makes me look like a cupcake.

When will I ever learn with this types of silky trouser pants. I am terrified of buying another pair because the ones I bought from Forever 21 split down my leg after I wore them once. I know I should know better with Forever 21 and their low quality clothing that eventually something like that would have happened, but on the first day!! I still really like the style because its just perfect for summer when you want light and airy clothing. I couldn't find them online so I just might have to wait and save up for them and hope they last longer.

Last but not least I have seen these pants worn everywhere! This was a for laughs and do I think I could pull this off type adventure. I was actually really surprised, but I still giggled a little at the ridiculous size of the pants. Come on you can't even tell they are pants until I pull up on the fabric. No matter the craziness I still really liked them for whatever reason and so because I just couldn't let go of them, and they were the last pair in the store AANND weren't online at all (I did a quick check with my phone to see if there was a deal) I obviously bought them right away. I can't wait to style them, but for now they are at the tailors getting hemmed!

Jumpsuit Madness!

10:09:00 AM

So what is new on my wishlist you ask? Okay so you didn't ask but I am going to tell you any way; JUMPSUITS! I have tried on a couple super expensive ones for the fun of it thinking that I would look absolutely absurd but they actually weren't all that bad. I surprised myself and have decided during this upcoming summer craziness for nights out with the girls or date nights that the jumpsuit was what I needed. I have found a few that I like from the crazy expensive to the very affordable range. Of course I am going to stick to an affordable pieces but the expensive ones are always just so darn pretty to look at.

Last but not least, the I am never going to have this because it is way out of my price range but OH EM GEE I love looking at it J Crew Wedding Jumpsuit

Gahhhh these are the times that I wish I was just rich enough that I could get the pieces of clothes that I utterly fall in love with but in reality am too broke to afford.

What are you adding to your wishlist??
